A meeting of the University administration with 1st year students of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology took place at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University at the initiative of the student self-government office.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev, Vice-rector for Development Strategy, Education and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev, Director of the Department of Education and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov PSU Kayrat Ashenov.

Among the participants of the meeting were also the University staff members, active students and advisors of the first-year students.

The purpose of the meeting is laying the foundations of ethical conduct, teaching respect for the University, teachers and other students .

In the course of the discussion, such issues as the culture of behavior in higher education institutions, the ethical basis of communication with seniors and other issues of moral and aesthetic education were addressed. The University administration expressed great interest in the needs of students and the main areas of their extracurricular activities. Some useful tips on effective time management were given to the studens. Students took an active part in the conversation, asked questions, and expressed their opinions.

“Our university is a model of educational community with a distinct culture, traditions and value orientations. This is the territory of the initiative, creativity, culture and healthy lifestyle”, noted Serik Omirbayev in his address to the students.

At the end of the meeting, a decision was made to hold such events on a regular basis for a wider coverage of students.
