S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University hosted a meeting of the University students with members of the regional branch of the “Association of Koreans in Kazakhstan” Public Association. The meeting took place at S. Beysembayev Scientific Library.

Raisa Afanasyeva, Deputy Chairman of the Association, introduced the audience to the customs and traditions of the Korean people. The participants of this demonstration showed traditional Korean dresses, described Hanbok, a traditional Korean clothing, in detail. During this event, there was a book exhibition entitled “One Country - One Destiny” and a demonstration of a video about the cultural identity of peaceful Korean people.

Students of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Narzangul Kanapina and Kymbat Mukanova sang Korean songs. The Anyon team supervised by Gulnara Autalipova performed Korean folk dances.

At the end of the event, Yelena Likhanova, a member of S. Beysembayev Scientific Library of S. Toraighyrov PSU, noted that, owing to this meeting, students of the University had the opportunity to experience the multifacetedness of Korean culture and speak directly to its carriers. “Such events contribute to even greater convergence between different nationalities. We learn more about the culture and traditions of each other. The program of this event included demonstration of various aspects of Korean culture. In particular, its participants showed the materials related to the language, culture and customs of Korean people. Besides, students were able to participate in traditional Korean games, as well as learn a lot about the arts and crafts of the Koreans", said Yelena Likhanova.
