A celebratory assembly dedicated to the International Day of Knowledge was held near the main entrance of the main academic building of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on September 1, 2013. The event was attended by students, teachers, researchers and veteran pedagogues.
This year, more than 1,700 school-leavers have become PSU students. 9 of them are the Altyn Belgy title holders. In terms of the number of students enrolled, PSU is among top 12 universities of Kazakhstan.
The opening speech was delivered by the Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev: “Starting from this moment, you are proud holders of the title of S. Toraighyrov PSU students. Our University is the leader in the field of education in the Pavlodar Region and one of the leading multidisciplinary Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport, Candidate of Engineering Sciences Toleugazy Toktaganov, and the Dean of the Faculty of History and Law, Candidate of Political Sciences Amergaly Begimtayev also gave their speeches addressed to the participants of the event.
During the event, the flowers were laid to the monument of S. Toraighyrov, the creative teams of the PSU Students Philharmonic gave performances, Gaudeamus students anthem was performed.
After the celebratory assembly, organizational meetings were held at the faculties. A public lecture was given, it was entitled “Kazakhstan-2050: One People, One Nation, One Destiny”. It contained a clear and detailed description of the upcoming development trends of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
