Baek Ju-Hyeon, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Kazakhstan, visited S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on June 14, 2013.

The visit took place within the Days of Kazakhstan Science in Pavlodar region. The South Korean diplomat had a meeting with the administration and leading scientists of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The Rector of Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev demonstrated the latest technologies and prospects for international cooperation in the field of innovations which will allow combining efforts in formation of the innovation cooperation between Kazakhstan and Korea.

A presentation of the following projects was held for Baek Ju-Hyeon: Designing Grain Storage Silos Using Innovative Technologies (performed by S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (RK) in cooperation with I.I. Polzunov Altai State Technical University (RF); scientific supervisors: Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor K.Sh. Luzev (AltSTU)); Prevention of Violations of Any Manufacturing Processes by Means of Introduction of New Backup Protection System and Automation of Electric Motors, Transformers and Busbars (performed by S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (RK) in cooperation with Tomsk Polytechnic University (RF); scientific supervisors: Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor M.Ya. Kletsel, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor A.P. Kislov (PSU), Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor V.I. Polischuk (TPU)); Designing a Device Protecting against Phase Interruption and Supply Voltage Asymmetry (performed by S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (RK) in cooperation with Tomsk Polytechnic University (RF); scientific supervisors: Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor A.N. Novozhilov (PSU), Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor V.I. Polischuk (TPU)); Damless Hydroelectric Stations Working on Low-inclined Rivers (performed by S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (RK) in cooperation with Novosibirsk State Technical University (RF); scientific supervisors: Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor K.T. Baubekov, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor A.P. Kislov (PSU)); the Project of a Prototype of a Wind-driven Electric Plant with the Capacity of 4 kW with Anti-storm Protection (scientific supervisor: Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor I.A. Shumeyko).

The regional website of innovative projects created at the request of the Akim of Pavlodar region was also shown to the distinguished guest. This site contains a database of projects in priority directions of innovative development of Kazakhstan.

According to the Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Serik Omirbayev, "Korea is one of the leading investors in the State program of accelerated industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan. Today we had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic Korea to Kazakhstan Baek Ju-Hyeon. We have identified ways of cooperation in the field of higher education. In the future, we plan to conclude a number of agreements with well-known South Korean companies that will facilitate the exchange of experience among the leading scholars of our countries".

In his turn, the Ambassador of Korea highly appreciated the pace of industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan. Baek Ju-Hyeon named a number of successful joint projects and expressed interest in deepening and expanding cooperation, increasing the activation of the investment policy.
