Toraighyrov University hosted a scientific seminar dedicated to the study and conservation of one of the rarest bird species in our fauna — the sociable lapwing (Vanellus gregarius). The event took place as part of an international project to identify and assess key habitats of this species in Northeastern Kazakhstan, supported by the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.

Researcher Anastassiya Ossipova served as the keynote speaker. She shared unique field research experiences from the Pavlodar Irtysh region and discussed the specifics of working with endangered red-listed species in the wild.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for exchanging scientific expertise, giving students and faculty members an opportunity to gain deeper insights into studying and preserving the region's unique biodiversity.
