A new laboratory facility of the Department of Metallurgy has been opened at Toraighyrov University. The official ceremony was held with the participation of members of the Academic Council and marked an important milestone in the development of the university’s scientific and educational infrastructure.
The updated laboratory complex integrates five specialized areas: hydrogen reduction, hydrometallurgical processes, forging, rolling, and 3D modeling laboratories. Such comprehensive equipment makes it possible to implement a full technological cycle. The laboratories fully meet modern requirements for educational and research activities and are aimed at training qualified specialists for the real sector of the economy.
The main equipment was provided within the framework of grant funding for scientific projects from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In total, 39 units of modern educational and research equipment were acquired, significantly expanding the opportunities for conducting experimental and applied research.
As part of the opening ceremony, faculty members and researchers demonstrated the operation of the laboratory equipment, including the process of pouring molten metal from an induction furnace. This clearly illustrated the practice-oriented nature of student training and the close connection between science and industry.
The opening of the Laboratory of Metallurgical Processes strengthens the university’s scientific potential, expands its research base, and creates additional opportunities for training highly qualified specialists for the country’s metallurgical industry.
