Ethics Commissioner - Akhmetova Gauhar Galymovna

The Ethics Commissioner shall perform her duties in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the legislation governing education and anti-corruption compliance, the Charter of the University, the University Code of Corporate Ethics, the Regulations «Ethics Commissioner», the Regulations «Ethics Council», as well as other internal regulatory documents.

Purpose of the Office of the Ethics Commissioner
The purpose of the Ethics Commissioner’s activities is to facilitate the establishment of an ethical institutional environment and to ensure the timely resolution of conflict situations arising from violations of ethical standards.

Primary Duties:
– Advising employees on matters of corporate ethics;
– Preventing ethical violations;
– Facilitating the resolution of conflicts related to ethical conduct;
– Conducting an initial assessment of incoming submissions and complaints.

Functions:
– Receiving and registering submissions alleging violations of ethical norms;
– Conducting a preliminary review of submissions;
– Referring submissions to the Ethics Council where sufficient grounds exist;
– Cooperating with University management and structural units on matters pertaining to ethics and ethical compliance.
