Toraighyrov University hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Civil Engineering, Architecture and Design” in memory of Kaldybay Zhumagalievich Montakhayev, National Architect of the USSR, Honored Architect of the Kazakh SSR, and laureate of the USSR State Prize.













In his welcoming address, Nurlan Erzhanov, Vice-Rector of Toraighyrov University for Research and International Cooperation, highlighted the significance of Kaldybay Montakhayev’s contribution to the development of architecture in Kazakhstan.
Professors from Syria and Uzbekistan spoke at the conference. Participants discussed the role of architect Kaldybay Montakhayev in the creation of major urban development complexes in Kazakhstan, as well as the cultural and spiritual heritage of natives from the Pavlodar region.
The conference also featured sectional sessions on the following topics: “Modern Materials, Structures, and Technologies in Construction,” “Exploring New Forms, Technologies, and Experiments in Architecture, Art, and Design,” “Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Sustainable Construction,” and “Digitalization in the Architectural and Construction Industry.”
It is noteworthy that a museum dedicated to the National Architect has been opened at ToU. For his outstanding achievements in architecture, Kaldybay Montakhayev was awarded a high state honor – the Order of Kurmet, holds the title of Academician of the Academy of Architecture of Eastern Countries, was elected President of the Union of Architects of Kazakhstan in 1996, and Vice-President of the International Academy of Architecture of Eastern Countries (IAAEC) in 1999. He is also the recipient of the 2000 National “Altyn Adam” Award.
