A round table on the topic “Religious Literacy and Cultural Tolerance: Realities and Prospects” was held at Toraighyrov University.
- Cultural tolerance and religious literacy are not just words, but a necessity for building a harmonious society. Modernization of public consciousness is impossible without the development of religious literacy and strengthening of interfaith dialogue, - noted Acting Rector of ToU Nurlan Yerzhanov.
Topical issues were discussed at the meeting, such as signs of radicalization, how to protect acquaintances, friends and relatives from involvement in destructive movements, what are the features of post-secular religiosity, the influence of the Internet space on the formation of religious literacy of young people, the positive and negative possibilities of social networks on information platforms and others.
It is worth noting that the dialogue platform was held within the framework of the implementation of the state budget research project No. 257 GF 24-26 / 8 URN AR23484991 "Improving cultural tolerance and religious literacy of young people in the context of modernization of public consciousness of modern Kazakhstan."
The moderator of the round table was the project manager, head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences Maira Kozhamzharova.
