Toraighyrov University hosted a "round table" "Tarikhka tagzym", dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions.

 - May 31 - Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repressions.  Huge human losses and the fate of those years hurt the heart of every citizen.  On the basis of the Decree of the Head of State dated November 24, 2020 “On the State Commission for the Complete Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions”, a regional commission on the rehabilitation of victims of political repressions was created in Pavlodar region, the main task of which is the complete political and legal rehabilitation of residents of the Pavlodar region who became victims of political  repressions,” said Aynur Raisova, deputy head of the department and social development.

The rectors of the region's universities, scientists, members of the regional commission and working groups, the scientific and expert group of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, students and Master's degree students of universities took part in the work of the "round table".

 The participants spoke about the tragic period in the history of the Kazakh people and about the rehabilitation of victims of political repression.
 - The process of restoring the names of the repressed people, launched several years ago, cannot be stopped.  We must remember and honor everyone who for many years, through the fault of the regime, has been unfairly called a traitor or betrayer of the nation.  It can be said that this is our sacred duty to our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, - said the rector of the university Yerkin Sadykov.

 For the first time, the names of 12 repressed people from our region, who had not previously appeared anywhere, were announced for the first time.

 It should be noted that as the main result of the activities of the State Commission in 2022, a 31-volume collection of materials and documents on the history of political repressions was published, a collection of materials and archival data (17 volumes) “Political repressions in the Pavlodar region: a tragedy of the people” was published, prepared by the worker  groups of the regional commission of Pavlodar region.

 In addition, on this day, the tragic events of the 1920-50s were discussed at the Department of the APK of Toraighyrov University, the participants talked about the formation of public consciousness, about the restoration of historical justice.
 - Work on the restoration and rehabilitation of the repressed people must continue.  We must remember and honor everyone who many years ago was unjustly condemned as an enemy of the people, a traitor.  We can say that this is our direct obligation to our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, - said Arman Akishev, head of the APK department, doctor of political sciences.
