Talent Management Development
In 2023-2024 academic year, 36 employees were included in the University's talent pool, having passed the tests for the competencies of "teamwork skills", "leadership skills", "management skills", "emotional intelligence", "negotiation skills".
A training session was held for the members of the talent pool by business trainer S. Baygalieva on the development of management competencies, improving personal effectiveness in teamwork and corporate communications.
Also, to develop the competencies of the talent pool, a 2-day practical training was held on April 18-19, 2024 on the topics "Skills, techniques and tools of an effective manager", "Stress management. Technologies for a stable psycho-emotional state during professional crises". The training was conducted by a trainer in basic and advanced skills, practicing certified psychologist Liana Shulikova.
In order to improve the psychological climate and communication skills of the university staff, a communication game was conducted by the director of the Toraighyrov Media Center, R.Sh. Torpishcheva, from February to March 2024.
Project "Mentoring in TOU"
The idea of introducing mentoring at our university arose during the advanced training courses for the university's teaching staff under the "Mentor's School" program, where it was found that novice teachers have a need for mentoring.
- In our opinion, mentoring has great prospects, since the university employs both invited production teachers and young people who do not have teaching experience. In addition, we consider the introduction of mentoring in the student environment to be a promising direction, - noted the project manager Tina Manyapova.
In the period since October till December 2023, the first stage of the mentoring project for young and novice teachers took place. An open lesson was held with assistant teacher Marat Ordabaev, and the mentor was professor of the Department of Industrial and Civil Engineering Kuandyk Sakanov.
Since March till August 2024, the ToU Mentoring project was implemented at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. The project participants were Aidana Kanatovna Beisembayeva, assistant teacher of the Biotechnology Department as an intern and mentor K.S. Isaeva. An open lesson was held on the topic of "Classification of semi-finished products. Technology of production of natural semi-finished products", attended by the university management and partner enterprises from the Department of Agriculture of the Pavlodar region.
In the current academic year, the following events were held within the framework of mentoring areas at ToU:
1) Advisory meeting with Khamitova A.I., Master of Nazarbayev University, co-founder of the Association for the Development of an Inclusive Society with young teaching assistants, faculty practitioners with the aim of providing constructive assistance for the development, adaptation and implementation of the educational program taking into account innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
2) a seminar with the head of the intellectual property rights department of the Department of Justice of Pavlodar region Tukenov A.E. and the patent specialist of the innovation and technology park "Ertis", patent attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abramenko A.P. on the topic "Security and protection of intellectual property in the Republic of Kazakhstan" in the field of intellectual property rights, ensuring legal protection and protection of the results of scientific and/or scientific and technical activities, etc.
Advanced training
Advanced training at NJSC “Toraigyrov University” is carried out on the basis of the approved plan for the current year, which provides for advanced training courses for faculty and administrative staff at leading national universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and at universities in the near and far abroad.
At the beginning of the academic year, in September, a systematic onboarding seminar (adaptation of new employees) was held for new employees, where they were introduced to the structure of the University, job responsibilities, safety principles, work with the general education portal, and personal account.
In order to facilitate the increase of the human potential of the university for the launch of the Center for Academic Excellence, through the formation and development of supra-professional competencies of strategic management, project and process management, flexibility, change management, systemic, creative and analytical thinking for heads of structural divisions, deans of faculties, heads of departments, deputy deans, and the university faculty (30 people), a 72-hour advanced training seminar was held online and offline from June 29 to August 29, 2023.
In October 2023, an advanced training seminar was organized for the faculty on the topic of "Green Technologies in Kazakhstan. Technological Forecasting" free of charge in offline mode.
In pursuance of paragraph 10 of the "Roadmap for the Development of Inclusive Education in Higher and Postgraduate Education Organizations for 2023-2025." The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted advanced training courses for university teachers in 2 stages during the 2023-2024 academic year.
In 2023, 376 university teachers and employees improved their qualifications, including courses by invited lecturers, coaches, and 15 teachers and 18 employees of the administrative and managerial staff had the opportunity to take advanced training courses with visits to Kazakhstani universities and enterprises.
Development of multilingual education
During the academic half-year, consultations were held for school and college teachers on the teaching of language subjects and the development of additional language training programs.
On September 20, 2023, together with the MPI "Innovative Center for Education Development" of the Education Department of the Pavlodar Region, we took part in a seminar for teachers of schools in the Pavlodar Region within the framework of the "Olimp Shyny" project. Senior researcher of the center Zh. Kapenova made a report on the topic "Pragmatic approach as an opportunity to organize work on the text" (presentation available).
On October 18, 2023, together with the MPI "Regional Educational and Methodological Center for Additional Education "Ertis Daryny" of the Education Department of the Pavlodar Region", a regional multilingual Olympiad was organized and held among schoolchildren of the Pavlodar Region, in which the teaching staff of the departments of "Philology (Kazakh, Russian)" and "Foreign Philology" were involved.
On November 15, 2023, they took part in the Russian Language Week at the regional Kazakh boarding school for gifted children named after Y. Altynsarin.
On January 25, 2024, the senior researcher of the center Zh. Kapenova took part as a member of the jury of the regional competition "Uzdik aul mugalimi" within the framework of the international scientific and practical conference "Realities of a rural school: problems, solutions".
From January 10 to January 26, 2024, advanced training was organized for the university's teaching staff (Department of Foreign Philology) within the framework of the International Winter Scientific School on the topic "Trends in the development of cognitive linguistics and linguocultural studies of the 21st century".
At the initiative of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of NJSC “Toraighyrov University” and based on the decision of the Academic Council dated November 24, 2021, the university conducts English and Kazakh language courses free of charge for employees and students.
From October 23, 2023 to June 28, 2024, 252 people completed English language courses: 87 employees and 165 students. 47 people passed the final test and received certificates: 14 employees and 33 students.
Kazakh language courses were also held to prepare for KazTest. 28 employees and 32 students took part in them.
Additional training on a contractual basis
The Talent Management Center conducted advanced training courses for citizens of various categories on a paid basis:
1) "Psychological and pedagogical conditions for using interactive methods in teaching students"
2) "Psychological and pedagogical support for children with special educational needs in inclusive education"
3) "Transportation, storage and distribution of fuels and lubricants"
4) Courses in specialty areas
5) "Current issues of language and literature: training and interpretation"
6) "Advanced training of engineers-technologists", Advanced training of design engineers"
7) "Modern political technologies in the work of a deputy: from communication with the population to work in social networks"
8) Language courses to obtain a TOEFL certificate
9) Language courses to obtain an IELTS certificate
10) "Efficient management and maintenance of common property. Main tasks and areas of action of the association of property owners"
11) "Questions of academic writing and training"
12) "Training of technicians for the reproduction of agricultural animals, Training of appraisers of meat, dairy and dairy-meat breeds of cattle and sheep".
In 2023, 215 citizens of various categories were trained for a total of 9,523,000 (nine million five hundred twenty-three thousand) tenge.
