S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University won the National Contest of Achievements in Inventive Creativity called “Shapaghat” in the Most Active Inventor Nomination.

The awarding ceremony of the annual Shapaghat contest was held under the 2nd International Anticounterfeit Forum and 7th Astana Economic Forum which took place in Shabyt Art Palace on May 22, 2014.

Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU Nurlan Yerzhanov, who represented our University at this event, received an award and diploma of a winner from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov.

Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Imashev, Head of the Department of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Division of Countries with Transition and Developed Economies, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Saule Tlevlesova, President of the World Association of Women Inventors and Entrepreneurs Mi-Young Han, President of the Eurasian Patent Office Aleksandr Grigoryev were among the guests of honor at the ceremony.

The main goals and objectives of the Contest is increasing the role of intellectual property in the Republic of Kazakhstan, promoting inventive activities, attracting investments to the inventive and innovative sector and implementing promising developments in the manufacturing sector.

Projects performed by Pavlodar State University scientists and members of the Regional Center of Innovation and Technology Transfer of PSU were shown at the exhibition of promising inventions, held in the framework of the awarding ceremony.

Pavlodar State University received the largest number of innovative patents and patents for inventions that meet the criteria of high technical level, competitiveness in the field of engineering and transport, and are characterized by an economic effect when used in the field of energy engineering.
