With the idea “Mechanical engineering is the driver of the industrialization of Kazakhstan!” PSU scientists became participants in the VII forum of machine builders, which was held in Nur-Sultan.

The forum has become a dialogue platform for both scientists and representatives of business, government and foreign investors.

Experts talked about attracting young specialists and raising their level of training, considered strategic directions for the development of the industry in the face of new challenges, issues of import substitution, etc.

“At PSU, in the framework of the training of machine builders, a dual training system is used, in which 40% or more of classes are conducted in production. These are regional enterprises of Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery, KSP Steel. Dual technology covers 8 specialties. For example, in the educational program “Maintenance and repair of equipment in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries”, classes take 2 days at the enterprise and 3 days at the university. In addition, at the request of “Bozshakol”, competencies are defined and a cluster of three faculties will train DSC engineers machine builders, ”said Dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering and Transport, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Kairatolla Abishev.

In turn, cooperation with the university is also promising for enterprises that can make adjustments to the process of forming the competencies of a future employee, minimizing the cost of training and retraining.

The university is focused on the implementation of business projects in the field of engineering and the development of research and development with further commercialization. So, for example, scientists have created an electric model of a wheelchair, an electric bike "TOP" and a hydrogen generator for engines.
