History of the department
Geography and Tourism Department was formed on January, 1st, 2006. After the division of Ecology and Geography Department, the doctor of geographical sciences Saparov К.Т became a head of it. Since 2007 it was headed by the candidate of geographical sciences Tsaryegorodtsyeva А.G. Since 2007 it was headed by the candidate of geologo-mineralogical sciences, associate professor Kaliyeva Aida Akhmetbekovna. Since 2011 the head of this department is the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Esimova Dinara Dautovna.

Toraighyrov PSU (2014), 1st place diploma at the International Competition 'My Innovative Lesson' organized by the Center for Training and Development, Astana (2014), more than 20 certificates of professional development both at international and national levels, winner of the 2014 Best HEI Lecturer grant from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
