History of the Department
Department of Chemical Technology was established at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University in the 1996-1997 academic year on the basis of the Department of Chemistry. This was due to the fact that in the 1993 - 1994 academic year, the University admitted its first students in the following programs: 390140 Chemical Technology of Organic Substances and 390240 Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances. Since 1997, the Department has ensured high quality of the entire set of courses for these programs. The university administration decided to establish these programs, because there were three major chemical enterprises in Pavlodar: Pavlodar Chemical Plant JSC, Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant JSC, and Aluminiy Kazakhstana JSC, as well as Neftekhim LTD, LLP, Aksu Ferroalloy Plant, chemical plants of the energy engineering companies of the region and a number of other companies using chemical technologies.
Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology has been preparing chemical engineers for the chemical industry of our region for 15 years. At present, the Department has nearly 200 undergraduate and graduate students.
The courses are taught by highly qualified teaching staff members with great scientific and industrial experience.
