History of the Faculty

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology was established in 2009 based on the Rector’s order. It has 3 departments and employs 44 academic staff members, including 4 Doctors of Sciences and 21 Candidates of Sciences, 2 Ph.D.s, 13 Masters. 61 per cent of all academic staff members hold advanced academic degrees. Average age is 45.

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology offers 3 Bachelor's degree programs in agriculture (Agronomy; Livestock Products Technology; Forest Resources and Forestry), 2 Bachelor's degree programs in engineering and technology (Biotechnology; Food Products Technology) and Master's degree programs in 6M072700 Biotechnology, 6M072700 Food Products Technology, 6M080100 Agronomy and 6М080200 Livestock Products Technology.

The Faculty also offers a number of sub-programs aimed at deepening of students' knowledge and enhancing their employment opportunities:

In the year of the Faculty's establishment, total number of students amounted to 240. In 2015, it reached 572.

550 of them are full-time students (284 students have their courses taught in Kazakh and 266 - in Russian).

There are 22 part-time students (2 of them study in Kazakh and 20 in Russian).

436 students are grant-holders, 136 are enrolled on a fee-paying basis.

There are 17 Master's degree students, including 11 grant-holders.

Administration of the Faculty

Dean of the Faculty is Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Kazakhstan Toktar Karibayevich Bekseitov.

He defended his Doctoral dissertation in 2004. Head of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology (1993-2009), the Founder and Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (since 2009). He published over 200 research works.

In 2008-2010, he supervised 4 Candidate’s dissertations which were successfully defended.

Full member of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences since 2013.

Main fields of his research activities are genetics and selective breeding.

According to the Decree of President N. Nazarbayev dated December 5, 2017, on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he received the award “Kurmet” for significant contribution to the development of agricultural education and science in the region (2017).

Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Agrotechnological on educational work, associated professor (senior lecturer), Candidate of Agricultural Sciences  Zhastlek Zhumabayevich Uakhitov.

In 1989 he graduated from the Semipalatinsk Zoo - Veterinary Institute, "Animal science ". Since 1994, worked on the production. In 2005 he was hired as a teacher of the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology at PSU. In 2006 he was elected as a senior lecturer at the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology. In 2007 he was elected as Vice Dean for EW and SE of Biology - Chemistry Faculty and now is working as Vice-Dean of the Agrotechnological Faculty on educational work. In 2008 he defended his thesis on "The influence of the regime" artificial molting "on the productive qualities of hens of Lohmann Brown breed on productive qualities" on the specialty 03.00.05- "Private animal science, livestock products." He published more than 47 scientific and methodological articles in the countries near and far abroad. The main scientific interest is connected with the study of increasing the productive use of agricultural birds. In 2009, he continues to work as Vice dean on GQ of ATF Agrotechnological Faculty.

Currently Uakhitov Zhastlek Zhumabaevich lectures and conducts practical, laboratory classes in Kazakh and Russian languages for students of 2-3 4 courses in the "Poultry industry" disciplines.

Zh.Zh. Uakhitov designed lecture courses on these subjects, as well as a teaching aid "Poultry industry" approved by REMB of the RK, published monograph and other publications.

Uakhitov Zh.Zh. lectures and conducts laboratory - practical classes at a high scientific - methodical level, as pointed out at the Faculty of teachers during reciprocal attendance. 

He is respected by students and teachers,  a responsible, hard-working and disciplined worker. He seriously and creatively goes with the execution of his duties, is constantly engaged in the self-education. Much attention he paid to individual work with students. 

 

 

Vice-Dean for Scientific Work at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Ph.D, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Zootechnology, Genetics and Selective Breeding Talgat Kozybakovich Seyteuov.

In 2004 Talgat Kozybakovich successfully graduated from S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University with a bachelor’s degree in Farming-Management.

In 2006 he was employed as a junior research associate in the Scientific and Practical Center “Biotechnology” at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

By the Order of Mongolian State University of Agriculture by virtue of the Memorandum of Creative Cooperation between S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University (the Republic of Kazakhstan) and Mongolian State University of Agriculture (Mongolia) he was admitted to a PhD program, in 2010 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. The title of the thesis: The results of research of the transfer of embryos of Simmental cows bred in the North-East Kazakhstan region. On March 31, 2011 a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Sciences was conferred upon him (the scientific supervisor: Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Ayatkhan Magash).

Working at S. Toraighyrov PSU, he attended the following professional development certificate courses:

- Urgent Problems of Veterinary Medicine and Agricultural Biotechnology (Innovative University of Eurasia) (May 18, 2007); 

- State and Prospects for Development of Animal Breeding in Kazakhstan (S. Toraighyrov PSU) (May 23-25, 2009);

- Molecular and Genetic Methods and Preservation of Biological Diversity (A. N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences);

- Introductory English Language Courses (S. Toraighyrov PSU) (from February 01 to April 30, 2010).

Diplomas:

- a diploma for participation in selective breeding and livestock evaluation programs (JSC Kazagroinnovatsiya Scientific and Innovative Center of Animal Breeding and Veterinary Science) (June 01-03, 2010);

- a diploma “Transplantation of Cattle Embryos” (the Russian Federation, Kalmytskoye JSC) (from November 28 to December 03, 2010).

In 2012, he successfully completed a professional development course and received an international certificate “Embrio – Transfer – Kurs”.

In 2014, by the Decision of the Committee for Control of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, he received a PhD in 6D080200 Technology of Production of Animal Breeding Products.

He is the author of 1 monograph and 22 scientific works, including those published in foreign journals presented in international citation databases.
