Students of ToU specializing in Russian philology underwent sociolinguistic practice in East Kazakhstan in the  Poperechnoye village.

Students of Toraighyrov University got acquainted with the history of the village, collected rich linguistic and folklore material.
Poperechnoye is a village on the edge of the Rudny Altai with a unique nature and original culture.
As it turned out, it is popular among foreigners in terms of ecotourism.  There have already been guests from the USA, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Germany, France and Finland.  And in Poperechnoye, the international ethno-folk festival "Ubinskiye raspevy" is held.  The village has its own ensemble, and the students managed to interview its members, as well as listen to old songs performed by the ensemble.

The Poperechnoye is also known as the land of poets and writers.  Writers and local historians Yuri Antropov, Gennady Bogdaev, Kliment Pervushin, Anna Serova were born and grew up here, who made a great contribution to the development of the cultural heritage of not only the village, but also the region.  Most of them are members of the Union of Writers of Russia.

 - According to the last census, 261 people lived in our village.  Now even less, the school has only 15 students, - said the head of the local club, Roman Fedorov, who also conducted a tour for students.

Tatyana Butvilene gave a home to the students, she previously worked in the West Altai Reserve and was a partner in the international project “Golden Altai – Wealth for the Development of the Region”.
