A meeting was held at Toraighyrov University with representatives from the US Embassy, Sarah Smith and Olga Paterova.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of the US-based English Language Fellow Program at the ToU Department of Foreign Philology, and the involvement of an American instructor in the Academic Writing Center (a US Embassy project).

Additionally, Toraighyrov University has become a member of the Kazakhstan-American University Consortium within a partnership program that will be funded and administered by the International Institute of Education, supported by the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Steppe Global Education Foundation.

The consortium includes higher education institutions from the USA and Kazakhstan that will participate in funded projects and programs aimed at creating sustainable partnerships in areas critical to both the US and Kazakhstan's economy and higher education sector. These areas include renewable energy, environmental science, agriculture, food security, and STEM. Consortium members will also have access to support in strategic planning, individual mentoring, virtual and in-person meetings, and the opportunity to receive initial grant funding.
